Looking forward to this one - once the 38 people ahead of me on my Library's hold list are finished.
I voted for this for my book club pick but it did it win. I will be reading this one on my own!

About 200 pages into this ... savoring every word. It's fantastic.

I think you'll all enjoy it. If nothing else, you'll probably find yourself needing an art museum fix. Since reading this book, I've added such a visit to my to-do list.

I agree. This is not a must read. It's amazing because of the ride, but too many detours for me.

There are certainly many detours. Since my favorite parts of the novel were the beginning and the ending, I would've been content with less detours, but, as you said, the ride was still amazing.

Since I didn't feel like carrying the heavy book with me I ended up listening to the audiobook. The narrator is fantastic, easy to listen to and captures the voices (and accents) of each character perfectly. I agree with you on the author's use of language - beautiful.

Think of all the ridiculous questions (ie, are you actually reading that? is that the Bible?) you've missed out on by not carrying around the physical book. Good choice. :)
