Finally! Thank you!
(I've been looking specifically for a negative review of this book because I couldn't seem to find any).
I just finished the book and I agree with most of what you said. The shallow-ness of the characters didn't strike me, but all the rest did (although Biffy, or whatever his name is, Lord Akeldama's favourite minion, is worse in terms of gay clichés than his master IMO - he's a HAIRDRESSER >.

Really, did my looong comment just get cut? Okay, so I was saying, I think the book is somewhere between bad and so bad it's good; I kept giggling at all the stupid things. I was thinking of buying the next one for laughs... but that was before reading the end (of the first book, that is).

I mean, the Queen makes a random appearance like why couldn't she have asked someone else to go in her stead? She announces that Alexia has just been promoted OFFICIAL MARY SUE TO THE QUEEN (also MUHJAH, what kind of a title is that?). Alexia's relationship with the gay vampire is actually more interesting than the one she has with her husband.

AND, to top it all, dubcon final sex scene. I know Conall (What kind of a name is that again?) is A MANLY ALPHA MALE, but that doesn't make it cool. :/
