Yes, one of the reasons I think this series is so popular both here and in Japan. The main characters are not your typical pirates...but neither are they the quote/unquote good guys either. At least not in the Navy's mind. If you like manga or graphic novels, I highly recommend this. It's can be very deep and complicated but at it's heart its just plain fun and enjoyable.
