No problem; I love sharing good reviews and both of you cover things that I wasn't able to get to either. I'm tempted to try her other books...but they don't necessarily sound like things I would try. I love her writing...but this book hit the right buttons that I'm not sure others would.
Thank you from me too - I get such a thrill whenever my reviews actually turn out to be helpful. :)
I've read, I think, all the Half-Moon Hollow 'verse books: there's a series of, 4, I think, that all feature the same character, Jane. There are another 4 or so that feature completely new characters, but they all end up in the same circle of friends so there are a lot of "guest" appearances. Most of these, if not all, have a mystery element to them. I've also read the first "Naked Werewolf" book - or, rather listened to it. I got it in desperation for an audio book (my Audible selection is limited here in AU) but I loved it.
I honestly can't say if I think you'd like the plots or not - but all of these books are very, very character driven and funny in the same way Better Homes is - also very friendship-centric. I loved "How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf" because of the characters; the cover and title did nothing for me at all. Actually, I've listened to it twice and I'm not sure I could tell you what the plot of the book actually is...
Yeah, the library has a couple and I'm tempted...I think they'll be back burner books for now though. I liked this one...but I'm skittish about anything to do with werewolves and I think this book was helped by the history and basically mystery of the story.
I agree - werewolves are probably my least favorite 'paranormal'. But I was truly desperate for an audio book (I had an achingly long commute at the time, through hideous traffic). The vampire ones were more my traditional taste; especially with the mystery element factored in. I think the werewolf one just hit the right notes with me because of the narrator and the MC. Oh, and it's in Alaska, which sort of fascinates this Florida girl. :D
I can see that. I've always wanted to see Alaska...without the snow of course! I can remember books I never thought I'd read checked out from a library that didn't have the selection I'd have wished. Hopefully you've got some good ones now.
