Unfortunately on goodreads even bad reviews increase visibility. The sorting of lists and other features there are by "popularity" (meaning number of ratings rather than what the ratings were).
Not the first or last author to drum up drama for marketing. Although KH stalking crap is hopefully too well known to actually lead to many actual book sales.
Even without all the drama, I'm thinking over $20 for six essays reprinted from previously free (I think) internet articles is ridiculous. No matter if newly revised. Not sure how any publisher would think that a good risk unless counting on the controversy to lead to sales.
I'm certainly not buying the thing just so I can write a negative review of it.
I wouldn't want to extend this to the same publisher's other *authors*, either (unless they expressly come out in support of Hale or take some sort of "both sides" position), but I think the publishing house ITSELF needs to be shown they've crossed a line.

I'm thinking that KH certainly found her publishing counterpart, though, the way this publisher is acting.
