Thx! I wish there was a heads up so I don't waste time reading 300 pages or whatever. Even not including, the last quarter wrap up was still out there -beyond my believability, but the rest of the book was great so yeah its a worth a try when you get a chance.
Good to know I'm not the only one. : ) I wonder that too sometimes if they just get writers block or they have a deadline coming up. This book didnt actually feel like that though. He did spend a considerable amount of time on the wrap up and then at the very end it was left open. I guess as a challenge to readers to fill in their own ending or maybe just to leave an air of mystery surrounding the "haunted house." Who knows, but I have had the worst luck lately picking books with open endings! : )
I didn't write that-that's the actual blurb from book (I used italicizes but I always get those rules confused so I went ahead & added quotes too.) But anyways, yeah that is interesting! I wonder if the author just didn't do his research?? But that blurb actually pertains to the plot so maybe he just wrote it as fiction based on the book not as an actual fact. Idk who knows...lol : )
Oh np. It is amazing the lack of research you see sometimes especially now that we have technology right at our fingertips. I remember having to do everything the old fashioned way. We didn't have tablets, Google etc. LoL On another note, when I read the last part of this book, I thought about your post on the limits of your suspension of disbelief. The "blurb related" wrap-up is pretty out there, it goes way beyond my limits of believability. : ) A lot of haunted house or ghost stories will start out good I think, but it's rare to find one that also ends well.
Yeah that's true & a good possibility. It just goes against my nature though to have an open ending. I like to have everything wrapped up & tied with a nice, neat bow. : )
I like open endings sometimes, so I might give this a chance
