On the plus side, it's given me time to work on editing my novel. Now I just have to live to see it hit the bookshelves. I think I'll last until September!
Thanks, Shelby. My doctors and nurses were awesome. Except for the one who did the catheterization. I flinched when she showed up the next morning. Maybe it was a Pavlovian reaction, but if I see her around town, I'm liable to drop to my knees and protect my junk. That was the most wretched thing! They don't tell you how much it's going to hurt! Whenever my back or leg flares up, I think back to that and reassure myself that at least it's not that bad!
Omigod. Some day I'll tell my story about getting a spinal headache - from a tear in the spinal column that happens 1% of the time - that they did not fix so easy. Harrowing tale, Forrest! Also my sister works at Epic.
I do not envy you the spinal headache. Sounds dreadful. Hope your sister is doing well at Epic. I lasted 2.5 years there and that was all I could take. It did to my emotions what the last few months have done to my body. Not to be Negative Nellie, because I truly hope your sister is enjoying it there, but Epic can chew people up and spit them out in short order. Takes a certain personality to thrive there, and mine was not it! Still, a really cool place to work, if you don't mind the stress.
