My mother adores them and I've heard mostly good things about them (although you found them a bit slow-going, didn't you?), but I admit the time period the series takes place in has me a bit disinterested. But you're absolutely right - I'll get to them eventually. :)

I think you will like your May Heyer choice much better than your April choice.
