I was determined not to read another Hearne novel after the mess he made of the last Iron Druid book, but now I'm tempted...
Yeah, the final Iron Druid book was very disappointing. It was as if he was completely fed up with the whole thing.

My impression as well - he got bored and just wrote crap to get it out of the way.

Good to know about that final one, if I ever get there. I like the series, but it's not one I feel compelled to binge read.

I tried this on audio and I just couldn't get into it. Maybe I'll try it again at some point.

It's definitely weird - and a little (or maybe a lot) juvenile in terms of humor; it took me awhile to get into it too and at one point (I believe it was when they were in the "morning wood" that I considered DNF'ing it myself, wondering 'what am I even listening to?'. But at some point, it just got really, really good.

Juvenile humour as in the kind little boys like? Meh.

The second book is like this one, gets good and then gets iffy, but I really like Luke Daniels and he made both books worth it.

Good to know - I've got the second one queued up in my library loans.
