I've only read the first three or four of the Wheel of Time books, Night Watch, and His Majesty's Dragon. Of those, His Majesty's Dragon is the best one by far. Of the ones I haven't read, the Alice in Zombieland ones look the most interesting.
I, myself, am extremely interested in the 'Temaraire' series, as I've seen a lot of great reviews for it. And then there's the Wheel of Time books--I own all but the last three when I bought them for my brother years ago. I haven't read them myself, though I DID try to start the first book when I was in college, which was a bad idea, by the way since these seem to be books that need a bit of time investment, of which I did not have in college.
I would definitely recommend anything Brandon Sanderson, though his Mistborn series is still ongoing, the first three are really good--I haven't read the next books in the series.
Brooks has some interesting books, but I've found recently that I'm not as drawn to his fantasies like I used to be. Though I DID zip through his Landover series pretty quickly--never finished it thought because the story lines felt repetitive as each book progressed.
I am actually in the middle of the first discworld book. I like it, but find that I am not as into it as I was ten or so years ago. I have lots of Sanderson books and also macammon. I am pondering whether or not to try some American gods again. The all consuming vagina part really threw me last attempf.
The Wheel of time gets long-winded in the middle - something like the 4 middle books just go on and on and the plot doesn't go anywhere. Then the author died and I gave up on the series.
