I liked his response, and I like knowing they have a 'troll' status ability on this site. It will be interesting to see how that get incorporated into the new communities being built here.
I agree. Also, for me, I am mentally putting them on blocked status. I am looking for ways to help build a fun, interesting reader community full of positive energy.
Thank you for the clarification Dawid! This site has been so great and welcoming so far, I look forward to using it for a long time to come and see all the upcoming features you have in store.
Yay! I feel soooo much better about Booklikes after hearing this. I'll be making this my permanent new home. While I didn't delete my GR profile as I haven't imported, and haven't decided if I want to, or want to start from scratch to give me a newer reason to reread my favorite books, and just to check stuff out there, I won't be reviewing there anymore. Only here from now on!
This has made my week so much better. I was waiting to see what you had to say, your comments on their sites were pretty neutral (like Karlyn says, internet trolls ARE a problem) so I was worried there for a second ... but you guys are smart. I figured it was pretty obvious who the troublemakers were (cyberstalking us from goodreads to here was a pretty good indicator) but you never know what people are going to believe. Thanks for researching them!
Dawid, that is good to know. When individuals try with legal and not so legal means to publish readers/reviewers' names and addresses, thereby endangering the reader and his/her family, that should never be condoned.
Awesome! While they do address some legitimate concerns at times, it is their methodology I so strongly object to. They are extremists, and falsely represent themselves as being against cyber-bullying.
Fun fact: When bullying.org found out the STGRB site was displaying their logo in a desperate attempt to fool visitors of their legitimacy, they replied on Twitter with a very clear message that they DO NOT support that site.
