Hello JL, there are free Ebooks all over the place if you take the time to find them. There are plenty of places that provide Free Ebooks like Amazon, Kobo, Smashwords, Itunes, Barnes and Noble every single day. The harder part is finding the book that is free on all of them at the same time.
