I should like to have been a fly on the walls of the House of Commons that day in 1940 when Chamberlain fell. It sounds from all accounts like quite a scene, complete with Oliver Cromwell quotations!
You should check out Nicholas Shakespeare's book "Six Minutes in May." While it has its flaws, his account of the debate (on which he spends three well-written chapters isn't one of them.
