Another one that is still on my TBR. Sounds like there is much to look out for when choosing translations/commentary. Did the OWC / Waterfield edition read well, too (in addition to making the philosophical aspects more visible than the political)?
Yes it was very readable. But no matter how well a translation reads, make sure the edition you read has good notes & commentary about what Plato is saying. Waterfield referenced other Plato material in the notes in which he actually explain/expressed things better than he did in Republic.
