I read the book first luckily. When I started watching the series I couldnt really get it, I mean they messed with it SO much. I guess they had an eye towards a second season. Still, I actually quite enjoyed the first series once I managed to disengage the two in my head.

I never could disengage the two and finally I just had to stay out of the room while my husband and my son watched it. I kept telling them how it should have been and they definitely didn't care what the book said! lol! They are anticipating season 2 and I hope maybe I can enjoy that with them since there is obviously no season 2 in the book.
