The Victorian atmosphere is totally me. The dystopian element is all him. He loves cyberpunk and I love steampunk. ...and those differing genres do rather say a bit about us.
And yet you're the one blogging! :)
But yeah, I think it's you, then. It's not quite steampunk, mainly because it's basically pure Victoriana. The only real dystopian elements are the fact that post-mysterious-Catastrophe, they all live underground and the regime has hardcore censorship.
He doesn't get why I blog, it just doesn't appeal to him. But he's always glad to hear of something great happened. I've always loved talking to people about books and there have just not been that people I could beyond my family, so all this is all but tailored for me.
Yeah, that sounds like it would be good for me. Those dystopian elements I've enjoyed in other books, so I think I'll enjoy this one a lot. Thanks!
I'm with you in that I enjoy hearing all the details of a situation. I too would want to know what the streets are actually like, how the whole living underground works, do they have to have some type of air exchange, etc. I love details when someone is creating a new world.
