Awesome review! This is one of my all time favorites. I have to admit that I liked it just a wee bit more than Zodiac and Cryptonomicon. I liked it a lot more than The Diamond Age. And I couldn't get through more than about 10% of the first installment of the Baroque cycle.

I loved it too! I'm from Boston, and studied toxic exposures in college, so Zodiac had bonus appeal. And I read a great Turing biography right before reading Cryptonomicon, and am kind of a WWII junkie, ergo my love for that one. I definitely liked reamde, but as I'm no gamer, I got a sense of where detailed bits about cryptanalysis etc. in my favorites might be boring to others, since theie gaming analogues in reamde definitely felt long to me.
