Sounds like a good idea! To be sure, the disabled boy is the focus of only one of the many minor subplots that branch out from the main narrative, otherwise it would have affected my rating more strongly. Still bugged me, though.
It might already be on your list, but "On the Edge of Gone" by Corinne Duyvis, which I'm currently reading, has some really great disability representation and fits the SF/F genre.
I'm hoping to do something similar to that site but for adult lit. Sadly, I just found out that I didn't get the grant I just applied for (would have paid for someone to actually code me a decent template, as well as for purchasing some books that I know I want to highlight but aren't in my library system)... so now I need to find a few extra bucks and buy the domain and webhosting and do something with a basic template until I actually have the money to do something right. Right now all I have is lots of notes, a few conference presentations, and a list of resources.
