This was really quite good, Beanbag - I wished it was a bit, oh I don't know, a bit deeper? than it was? I'd recommend it. It's so different! And it's tres steamy. :)
It seems the h/h's background and current status would require a deeper connection. How could characters have that much conflict and sex their way through the story without emotionally satisfying the reader. Why make him a man whore for men? Eh.
Hi Anna, have you read this? (can't tell from BL like you can on GR). I agree with you about the deeper connection - that's what the book was missing a bit for me. The man whore for men completely made sense to me though, and was more believable than if he were whoring around with women to find information. The women didn't know beans back then; all the intel was with the men.
No, I haven't read this book. I am intrigued by your review. Have you read any of Joanna Bourne's historical romances? Her Spymaster series includes female spies.
Yeah. I wish I had. Maybe you'll have a better reading experience with book 2. (Don't say I never told you.) Btw, you won't miss anything! Check your local library! They save readers $$$.
