I agree; she's an amazing writer, but I find I need to brace myself when I sit down to read her. I have Hunger partly read, and go back to it as often as I can, but it's a read that hits close to home, so I have to choose my moments carefully.
This is actually a collection of essays from all sorts of writers, but I'm just not up to reading rape stories. I wanted to be clear that it isn't the writing that's making me drop it; I'm just not in the right headspace. And I'm not sure I'll be in the right headspace for the foreseeable future...
