I might need to start with this then. One of my disappointment from the beta was the lack of a setting. The premise of an Appalachian setting really, really intrigued me (or else my visions of it are far too romanticized), but I was disappointed by the lack of descriptions and a sense of place.
Wow, I didn't even think about that because in my head I already knew the setting through the previous books. I'll definitely agree that there was less in the beta. This is still my favorite out of the series. There's just something so magical about it.
