It is for me.

Ditto.
I've had this happen to me several times.

Oh, thank god for that, guys! I needed to hear it. I was going crazy, then this morning I realized I just had to let the outline go. let the story run wherever it wants to run. I'm just going to keep writing it and see what it ends up being.
Good to know that this happens to the best of you. Too.

LOL

I'm a total pantser, so no matter where I think it will/should go when I start, it always ends up in a completely different place.

I'm pretty sure the mind writes while one sleeps too.
I guarantee the mind writes while the body sleeps...called dreaming! And sometimes the dreams are so spot on it's a little unnerving.

Good good. So, I'm off to bed to go dream up the rest of my story now. By tomorrow night, however, that will probably be history again, and new dreams will be needed. How very interesting this whole experience is. Nite nite

I'm not a writer, but I have heard that rumor from several authors and some of them are quite famous, so it sounds like you are totally on track with things, lol!

Outlines are like the Pirate code, their more guidelines. ;) I always felt that the first draft is a kind of outline, just one written in long form. A test ride of sorts.

Awesome! I'm hoping to clear that tonight too. *crosses fingers*
I hope it's normal, whatever normal means!

There is no such thing as normal. Thank god.

I believe you are right! hehehehe
