I'm the shrimp of my family at 5'8", but I have two "little" brothers over 6'5".
My dad is about my height, and he once got into a convo with a Chinese co-worker about how second generation Chinese immigrants are always taller than their parents.
"It's the milk in the American diet," his co-worker said.
"No, my wife has a 7' tall cousin," my dad said.
"What did his father do?" his co-worker asked.
"He was a dairy farmer," my father answered.
Oh, man, I hear you. I'm 6'0 woman living in Italy... And especially the last two were spot on. I get nervous when I go home to Sweden and suddenly lots of people are taller than I am. And don't get me started on the points of umbrellas! Raising of a deadly weapon, I call it.
Only men's clothes for me, including shoes. it's like Italian women don't have toes. Or, at least, the configuration is different, with the big one in the middle...
As for clothes, as I am also thin, usually what fits my hips ends just below my knees hehehe
It's silly, and I try to shop for clothes when I'm at home in Sweden. Or in Canada, where they make stuff for all kinds of sizes.
A normal, single bed in Italy is 80x190cm (approx. 2'6"x6'2"). I had pieces of me falling out of it on all sides, until I went to IKEA and got a slightly better one.
My hubby does that too! He hates used the bottom cabinets so everything goes in the top ones. Well, I'm only 5'8", so then I have to call him to come get whatever he put out my reach and he hates that too lol.
My brother-in-law is 6'5 and when him, my sister (5'1) and I (5'3 3/4 :D) lived together, he would put everything on the top shelves. We finally had to invest in a step stool because I was tired of climbing up onto the counter to get a glass.

*drum roll*
I live in a nation of dairy farmers and I'm shorter than both my parents.
