That is... the opposite of what I needed right now. Maybe curling up and crying, trying to keep the noise down, is what I will do right now.

It's not your fault. I was saddened by a book, then this. I'm trying to cheer myself up now. This is.. incredibly sad. No judgement, just sadness.

@Lyn, I'm with you. I'd love to go rescue the books; I'm only about 5 hours away from Detroit. How could they NOT remove the books before abandoning the building?

That's the first thing I thought of when I saw the picture: Those poor books! Why didn't they save the books?
Breaks my heart--I grew up in East Detroit and seeing this is like a monkey with a hand grenade for me--I don't want to look but I can't look away.
