Mine is Readercon. Sometimes when the reviewing gets too intense and I just want to give up, I go to Readercon, and I'm reminded that authors can be not only professional, but also wonderful.
I get moments like that on here, but to have a full weekend full of awesome authors is just fantastically rejuvenating.
That sounds really great. We don't have anything like Readercon here on the west coast, SoCal is just not literary. I've tried appearing at the book festivals, the ginormous Los Angeles Times Festival of Books and small, very earnest local library venues. The latter can be wonderfully hosted but the attendees are so apathetic. You gotta hold on to your Readercons; at heart it sounds like what's best for book lovers, both readers and authors. :)
It is. Maybe one year you'll come down. I'm always trying to talk people into coming, and if it helps, they have a dealer's room. It's not massive, but it's a good size for a convention this size.
I wanted to be there so much. I'm glad you had a good time, though!
