You're reading some great books! :)

I enjoyed listening to all of them. I wish I'd had a Kindle edition of 'The Old Silent' since there were some hilarious scenes that would have been fun to do updates for. :D

Really? Richard Jury is another of my mom's favourites, and now you have me curious. Ok, if you don't get around to reviewing anything else, review this one first? lol... :)

Jury's co-worker Sgt. Wiggins is good for a chuckle. He always has digestive biscuits and Fisherman's Friends on hand for his latest ailment. And Melrose Plant generally has some faintly snide witticism at the ready; his internal monolog runs along the same lines. But this time out there's a chapter where DC Brian Macalvie drives Jury and Wiggins to see a forensic archeologist and tickets no less than three drivers on the trip there with great zeal. It's lol funny.

Some of the characters might grate on other people's nerves, like Melrose Plant's Aunt Agatha. And the books may not be as politically correct as readers now demand. But Grime's wit and formula (she is formulaic) just work for me.
