Stay safe and I hope they are able to get it under control soon. It sounds so scary and seeing it on TV.... very frightening.

I'm glad you're safe. The pictures of the aftermath look like something out of an apocalypse film. It's terrifying.
I'm relieved to hear this; I hope they'll be able to contain the fires once and for all very soon. They reported on this on German and British TV, too; the images looked *awful* (well, so did the ones you posted). Fingers crossed you and yours will make it through unharmed!
Glad to hear you are safe. Thanks for letting us know.

Thanks everyone. We're prepared to bug out if the high winds they've predicted for tonight hit and the fires surge again. As part of the drill we've hosed down our home and yard for the 4th time too. The good news is fire breaks have been established on the two major fires threatening this side of town now, so Cal Fire and all the auxiliary fire fighting forces are going strong and doing an outstanding job.

Lets hope the gods of wind and fire are appeased by all the destruction they've already wreaked on Northern California, and we can heave a collective sigh of relief by tomorrow.
