Ok, I'll start with the obvious one: Germany. Both Humboldt brothers (Alexander and Wilhelm) are very well known. Lots of streets, schools, etc. named after either or both of the brothers. I guess most famous would be Humboldt University in Berlin, which was originally founded by Wilhelm H. He did not name it after himself, tho. It was named differently and later renamed to honour both brothers.

Makes sense, but I'm glad to know. Weirdly, there are places in the US named after Humboldt too, including a county in California, but it never occurred to me that there was a historical person behind them.

His brother also sounds very interesting, and it would be great to read a book about him too.
