Love the story. Thanks for sharing.
But I must just say, that none of us really knows what is buried beneath our feet. There could be anything down there. Right?
Great story -- and even if the dead are worried about their gravestones you are the one who just restored them from underneath years of overgrowth and debris ...
I think it's an awesome story and if it were me, if my headstone had to be washed away, I'd rather it be found and used in someone's garden then just thrown away in a tip and destroyed. :)
Rosemary needs good drainage (folklore claims grows best for stronger women) and sun. Candytuft, periwinkle, four o'clocks and moss roses are less picky, spread out like forget me nots and will seed themselves back each year (plus candytuft is a particular favorite of ladybugs ...). I mention because sounds like if against a wall that maybe there's a shade issue or damp soil from drainage. Jackamani and other clematis like shaded roots then climbing a wall to find sun...so do the trumpet vines beloved of hummingbirds but those can get invasive.
Not to be morbid, but I'd like a bit of non-wormy life like hummingbirds and ladybugs about my grave.
Thanks for the advice, MbD and Debbie! :)
We're still in the process of re-planning the garden - there's so much to do - and I'll definetely take them into account, especially since there really are some shady parts which are facing north.
Just a test: Does anybody get a notification when I comment on one of my own posts? Because I have had two people tell me that they didn't (it was an older review, but still...).
Thanks for your reply! I didn't know about that. But I think they would have announced it when they made a change to the ways we receive notifications. They're usually quite communicative on stuf like that.
Yep. This is it. I've got a haunted post. Nice. O.O
Now I'm going to make myself a hot chocolate. With lots of rum. And I'm only going to come back here in the bright light of day.
It turned out I had forgotten that I had used it all on this year's rum pot, so now it's hot choc with sherry.
I made one for you, too. You can find it on one of the gravestones. ;)
Good night!
Thanks for replying, Susanna!
Okay, so you only got one notification?
Let's do it again, I will post a comment, then wait a while and make a reply - to make sure which one you got.
And I'm curious to see if you'll receive one for this comment...
Yup. Seems I'm getting all of them. I did have a problem a few days ago when there seemed to be quite a delay in getting notifications but in the end they appeared.
Okay, so I think there is a bug that notifies people when I reply to a comment on one of my own reviews, but not when I just comment.
Thanks a lot for yor help, Susanna and BT! :)
Now I wonder if others are having the same issue without noticing it...

Yes, you're right. I will plant some flowers around them in spring, maybe some forget-me-nots.

I really wish we had hummingbirds here!
One thing's for sure, you Halloween-y post sure got spooky.

Anyway, I'm going to notify BL about this in the bugs topic tomorrow. There's definetely something wrong.
Thanks a lot for yor help, Susanna and BT! :)
