First person POV can be odd with audiobooks when there's a big mismatch between the narrator and the character. I didn't last long with the last audiobook I tried that had that problem.
If the story were told in past tense, I could at least reason that maybe this was Katniss recalling events from many years before. But this is first person, present tense. And Katniss is supposed to be 16 years old.....

I listed to Carolyn McCormick's narration of Jeff Vandermeer's Annihilation and to be blunt: I hated it. I liked the story but the narration nearly ruined it for me. I loved her as Dr. Olivet too.
I also wonder if others felt the same way, because for the second entry in the trilogy, the narrator was changed to Bronson Pinchot.
I hope the age disparity doesn't turn you off the story completely.
