Wow. I haven't noticed anything like that but somehow, I'm not terribly surprised.
OstensiblyA 11 years ago
It's ridiculous. It's been bad, but this is just beyond.
Degrees of Affection 11 years ago
I'm sorry. I've seen it take place but haven't been involved...yet. I hope I won't, which might happen because my miniscule patience with the sight is dying a swift death with all the new stuff going on.
OstensiblyA 11 years ago
I get involved too much. I don't have the patience to see that stupidity and not say something.
I saw your comment on my "Beautiful Bastard" review. I'm not even sure where that attack came from, but it ended really quickly, much to my surprise.

Bubbleheaded nitwits like that can't keep up arguing with IQs higher than their underwear size. I'm just sick to death of 'ZOMG, IT'S JUST SEXY WHY ARE YOU THINKING SO MUCH? JUST ENJOY IT." Arrrrrrrgh! Just because you aren't willing to put intellectual thought into anything doesn't mean the rest of us need to be brought down to your level.
Degrees of Affection 11 years ago
LOL. Sorry, but faces of people...who appear in my life far too often flashed in front of me after reading your rant. "aren't willing to put intellectual thought into anything..." How sadly, sadly true.
OstensiblyA 11 years ago
Ugh, those people must be avoided. Especially if they're advocating for crappy P2P.
Degrees of Affection 11 years ago
I've not had the courage to try P2P, not knowingly anyway. I'm sure there must be at least one good one out there but I have WAY too many other books to read. It's scary sometimes how many people simply make no use of their intelligence. They seem perfectly content look no deeper then what's right in front of them. I like to tell people I've learned more from reading fiction then non-fiction at times; it helps that it's true. People will ask me where I got some crazy fact and I'll say, "Caddie Woodlawn." or "The Scarlet Pimpernel" or even Lemony Snicket's books. It's amazing where knowledge can be found.
OstensiblyA 11 years ago
Not really. Only crappy fics are being published. Even if there were a good one, you shouldn't read that unethical filth. You're right, there are plenty f real boos by real authors out thereof can support.

They seem to come in all at once, I just got one myself. It must be something about the season.
Degrees of Affection 11 years ago
When's the full moon? That really does make a difference.
Khanh the Killjoy 11 years ago
*snickers* I'm not even like that on my worst bout of PMS.
Degrees of Affection 11 years ago
Me neither. It still astounds me that people think that's acceptable to act like that in public. But then, my husband and I both believe we were born in the wrong century.
OstensiblyA 11 years ago
Tis the season to go trolling? They sure seem to think so. Fa lala la la lala la la.
Is it the influx of Amazon/Kindle readers that are coming?
OstensiblyA 11 years ago
Possibly. But there were plenty of these assholes around before now, too.
Except that before you could deal with them. Now, if they're authors and publishers, they're a protected species ...
OstensiblyA 11 years ago
Truth. They can do all the attacking they want and you can't say a word about it. Truly ridiculous.
Protected species.....that is priceless. Sad, but priceless.
Yeah. Well ... :~
