Holy Cheese Whiz - you were busy this weekend! :D I lost a day yesterday and am woefully behind, but hope to rally this afternoon. :)
But unlike me you're also doing the "Gulp" buddy read, and there's only so many books anybody can read at any given time ... (not to mention that, astonishingly perhaps, we all have real lives to live as well).
Joan Hickson - also by far my favorite Miss Marple.
Mine, too. I could never really warm to her "successors" in the role (the fact that the stories were significantly meddled with had something to do with that as well, but Hickson simply nailed the character from the books) -- and as for Rutherford, well ... she's simply Margaret Rutherford, not Miss Marple.

I have to say that I really, really like Stephanie Cole's audio narrations of some of the Miss Marple novels, though. (But then, Cole *is* an exceptional narrator, whatever she touches.)

Wowsers! You're off to an impressive start. I haven't even left the starting gate yet. :(
Everybody in their own time -- it's supposed to be fun, after all!
I ended up reading Beowulf over the weekend and it occurred to me that Bingo players could use that for the monster square, since it does have 3 monsters.
Good call, yes! I'm going to have to see what I'll be reading for that square, but I'm toying with going for Ovid's Metamorphoses (or at least, part of them) -- pretty much for the same reason. Plenty of monstrous and otherwise weird creatures there, too, obviously.
Well, it helped that MR opened the game early and also that it started on a Friday. I have some "competing" RL stuff going on as from today, so I at least wanted to get a few squares out of the way -- but I won't be able to go on at this pace.
