Well, one reason why I haven't gone anywhere near "The Casual Vacancy" was that I *have* heard widely varying things about it, so I wasn't sure about it at all. And a similar thing actually explains my response to the frist Cormoran Strike book ... I mean, crime fiction is not exactly the same thing as YA fantasy, so when I first learned about those books, I had great doubts whether she'd be able to pull it off convincingly. The greater the pleasant surprise, thus, to find that she did in fact deliver.
Do you happen to know whether more additions to the series are in the works?
(I should probably go into hiding now that I've implied something negative about Rowling)
As for the Strike novels, read 'em twice each and want little else from her than another handful of them.
