This is the second time I've seen someone mention the bird POV bit. It sounds so bizarre, but what I've heard about the book in general intrigues me.
Oh, there I was bumping along, enjoying the story and suddenly the bird is thinking. It works perfectly because there is a bit of a power struggle between the bird and the hero. Quite funny. And it really is only that one scene, even though the bird is present throughout the book.
