I don't want to label it "sexual tension" yet - it's more sweet... but Montgomery was astute when he called it falling in love. I look forward to seeing what will become of the pair... and how human Simon is willing to become.
As for the other stuff, once the scenes were over, I was fine, and it wasn't that I was "grossed out." It was more that I was emotionally battered - the stuff that happens made my heart hurt.
I remember this book being dark, but I don't remember the specifics. I will be doing a relisten to both books before book three is available on audio. I'm expecting January/February.
I want to try Bishop's Black Jewels series. I've heard it is even darker than this. I love authors who push boundaries.
I do like that it's dark and light. The darkness gives the books a richer, deeper feel - and it's not dark for shock value. I love how she balances the story.
I forgot about that part. That might even be too much for me. I think I still want to try them to see for myself. I've heard good things. I think it is like Flowers in the Attic, but I'm not sure. I haven't read that either, but thought about that one too.
I must be much more jaded than you because I don't remember a lot of the parts that made you take a break. LOL
