I think I enjoyed this a little better than you did but, for what it’s worth, I did think the series improved quite a bit. :)
I hope you enjoy the sequels if you read them!

I might get to them eventually, but I could definitely see this improving. It even improved so drastically just from the beginning of the book until the end. Good to know the sequels continue with that!
