Terrific reviews - I really appreciate the frankness. I am tired of "nicey-nice, have to say something good about every story" reviews. I like to know what people really thought, whether I agree or not.

I am always trying to be as honest but as polite as I can as well. I am glad that you think it's helpful at least.
I definitely agree about least favorite one - OMG. I loved Astrid Amara's and Ginn Hale, but I loved Ginn Hale's story not because it was a romance, but because of exploration of other issues which I thought was very well done. But you know me - her writing hits home for me usually. Agree more or less about other stories, except I DNFed Josh and the Damned and graded psycop higher.

Yes, I know that you are one of Hale's fans. I just can't seem to connect with her writing. I have several authors I struggle with like Hale. Among others: Voinov, Tamara Allen, and some of Harper Fox's stories. With all due respect to Charlie Cochet, that story is a joke :( and really not in par with other stories in this collection.
Yeah Tamara Allen is another favorite lol (who became a friend as I always feel compelled to add :)). Totally agree that Charlie Cochett should not have been there. Harper Fox is absolutely hit or miss. I love her writing, but the angst in some of her stories - uuuuuugh. Voinov is the same thing - love his writing, but don't always love the stories.
I admire Ginn Hale and sometimes I love her. Sometimes her stories are a bit to grim and sad for me. For example, the first part of Wicked Gentlemen would have been too grim for me without the second part (I love the whole thing). The story in this anthology skirts that line - I liked it, but I would have liked it better if it had been just a hair more upbeat.
