Don't worry. Themis wiped the floor with both of us in terms of updates. ;)
I'm generally not sure what to write in terms of updates, since anything I write is likely to be a repeat of what is in the book already and the author probably already said it in better style than I could.
Most agreed. lol Themis definitely wiped the floor with both of us. And the truth is, while this book is quite interesting on it's own, I'm loving Themis's updates even more. Learning a lot from her posts, though I've been holding back from reading each one until after I've read the corresponding chapters in the book.
And yeah, I'm the same way about updates, and not quite sure what to write outside of including a quote or passage I found I liked. Otherwise, a lot of times I don't really update at all. I'm generally not the best buddy read partner, but I really enjoy what everyone else has to discuss. =D
Hah! Thank you both kindly -- the good news for you is that I'm done with the book, so I've the "status update" field entirely to the two of you ... just the review to finish now.
Truth be told, though, usually I'm not at all sure what to put into status updates, either -- that's why I'm using them so infrequently (and since I also have to have a special motivation to write a review, the vast majority of books I read go entirely uncommented save for a star assessment. This one is different only because after the initial discussion / comments it dawned on my I might have a bit of a different perspective to add and, in a sense, provide a sort of epilogue to Koff's narrative, from the POV of the arena where it all eventually played out. If it contributed in some way to your reading experience, that's all I could hope for. I'll be happily back to selectively status-updating and reviewing after this one, though! :)
