What a fun lineup! And you're waaayyy better at catching up on reviewing than I am ...

lol I try. I'd love to be able to review all the books I read, but sometimes I can't come up with anything to say until a lot later... usually after I've given it some thought months later, or after a friend asks how I enjoyed a certain book.
I know what you mean, except by that time I usually have zero motivation left to lift even a single finger and actually write a review! :)

I have such a hard time reviewing a book if I even wait a week after, I don't know how you managed to remember enough from 6 months ago to write a complete review. I'm impressed!

And yeah, I've got the same feelings about Lethal White, although you were able to articulate my dissatisfaction with Robin in a way that I could not. You really hit the nail on the head.

It's quite surprising, even to myself, how much I can recall when I start writing these. But a lot of times I'll just sketch out some notes or a very rough ramble for a finished book, set it aside and forget about it until later on in the year, which was why I started putting these together in the first place.

'Lethal White' was so great save for the whole business with Robin and Matthew. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way about the whole ordeal. It was frustrating, really.

I'd have been happier if she'd just not added romance into the relationship between Robin and Strike. I thought their professional relationship and friendship was far more interesting.
@PM: Totally agreed.

Also agreed, re: no romance in the story. I think Robin and Strike make an excellent investigation team, but that budding romance between them just doesn't ring true for me. And as I'd stated in my thoughts, I really wish that we didn't have to insert romantic feelings for Strike as a motivating factor in whether Robin leaves Matthew.
"You've got a broody alpha with eccentric characteristics who is both pushy and bossy... and then you've got the feisty heroine who is the only person not intimidated by the hero, even if she gives into him every time."

I can't help myself, this formula works hard for me, lol.

Ha! This formula sometimes works for me and sometimes doesn't. I'm super picky and don't make sense when it comes to romance, and sometimes because of one factor or another, I'll let formulaic work for me when I wouldn't in other instances. =P In Amanda Quick's case, I always let it work for me, even if I complain about it at times. hehe

You had a great month!
I'm listening to Lethal White now, and I'm still so mad at Robin for the whole Matthew thing. (I'm only about 30% into it, but I'm hoping she gives him the boot in this book.)

I hope you're enjoying Lethal White in spite of the Robin situation. It's frustrating as heck, and I don't want to give too much away (at least not more than I probably already did in my brief review). The book itself was excellent otherwise!
