Sounds very much like every morris dance I have ever seen - at least in the same spirit.
Also reminds me of the entertainment provided at Hernia's & Lysander's wedding in "Midsummer Night's Dream" ... (morris dance instead of burlesque play, but the emphasis still seems to be on burlesque!)
And Theseus was at both!
