I loved the cover, the structure and the idea behind this book more than the book itself.
I suppose an alternative way to go would have been just to write a conventional modern novel. I'm not sure the contemporary voice was the best idea, though it makes the book much more accessible.
For me, the audio experience made all the difference. Not least in light of its structure, this isn't a book to be read so much as to experience being performed.
Yeah, I think that's true - I saw Zoe Wanamaker do Electra and I could imagine a double bill of that and an edited version of this.
Zoe Wanamaker in "Electra" must have been quite an experience!
It really was! It was my first experience of ancient drama, too.

Yeah, I can see this one work much better as a either audio or on stage.

And Zoe W. ... Wow!
A really physical performance, too.
