I didn't like it either. I loathe preachy political messages and the writing style didn't work for me either.
It seems it's the delivery that makes all the difference with this one. I listened to Laural Merlington's audio, which is simply hilarious (not because it makes fun of the text, but because it exploits the text's possibilities to the nth degree -- particularly with the chorus). And I loved it.

But a lot of people who've read the print book didn't like it at all.

On a different note, kudos for sticking with your "Greek mythology adaptations" reading despite the fact that you only seem to like half of them at best! That's perseverence, if nothing else ...

Well, I´m interested in greek mythology and the stories behind it. If I struggle with books in that genre, it´s mainly because of the writing or the story telling of these books.

Essentially, I´m on the eternal search for gems in this genre ;)

Yeah, it wasn't a huge winner for me either. Parts of it were funny, but overall it wasn't one I'd re-read.
