I really don't want the site shut down. But is anyone at the wheel? Anyone on staff at all doing anything on the site anymore? Why did the site crawl so slowly recently? What's going on? Hello, knock, knock, is anyone on staff out there? Have the owners abandoned or sold the site?

Has someone hacked their Twitter account? I see some activity there sometimes.
