That seems like a bad decision given how important the narrator is to the “listenability” of an audiobook. I wonder if Allyson didn’t want to do them anymore, or if she was insisting on too much money.

She's done a total of 19 audiobooks in the Honorverse so it's possible she's had enough. Sometimes a publisher will switch narrators because of scheduling conflicts and the publisher thinks having an audiobook out on the same release date as the print/ebook is more important than having the right narrator and releasing later.

Yes, occasionally Audible gives me a special offer that's just too good a deal to turn down and their 24 book annual membership is pretty good value too.

I’m not a member because I don’t listen to audiobooks often enough, but I do like the reduced prices Audible offers when you've already purchased the Kindle edition.

The series I’m currently listening to is nowhere to be found in my library system's catalog, but it has only cost me $4 per audiobook to just buy them from Audible since I purchased the Kindle editions several years ago.
