I first read this when I was around 12 and I was delighted that Meg wore glasses and even though I'd read a couple Nancy Drew books, having a girl be in the forefront of an adventure was pretty cool. I can't wait to see how they pull off some scenes in the movie, especially the portrayal of the Dark Thing and if they'll end it at book1 or got into 2.
