I also enjoyed this one better than the first. I agree, you could see a definite improvement in the narration. And I immediately started looking things up about this forest as well, while reading. It did give this story an extra creepy factor for sure!

The Japanese settings & atmosphere do make her stories that much better. That's one of the reasons I like the series so much. I can't wait to see what she uses next & I also can't wait to see if & how this dating thing plays out with Tark & Oikuko or Tark, Oikuko & Kendele. I've been trying to figure out how that's going to work out but I can't do it. LOL That ought to be interesting. : )
Haha yeah I have no idea how that will play out. I'm eager to see the next story as well, Japan has quite a few landmarks rich with a gory/spooky history, and Chupeco has a knack for bringing them to life. I'm really hoping I get an invitation from the publisher via NetGalley to read early again!

That's right I do remember seeing her books on NetGalley but I didnt request because I wasnt sure if I was going to like it. Ill have to keep an eye out for her next one though. They seem to be getting better & better.
