Also, that's... not right. Look at the comments. The characters in that are mostly white, and it was based on Germany, actually. Um, Edward is kinda... Aryan, as some of the comments point out. It's also a Japanese company doing a Japanese movie. No wonder it's an all Japanese cast.

And I'm not saying do not want. Do want. Whitewashing is when you turn other characters into white characters. They're actually reverse whitewashing, I guess, but that doesn't make this anymore true to the source material than whitewashing does.

And I'm also not arguing against diversity. I've grumped about that, but I'm also persnickety about definitions/origins. I have NO problem with a Japanese cast. But holding this up as 'true to source material' is not correct, and thus I don't find this to be whitewashing.
