Enjoyed this one myself!
If you like peach flavor but hate the fuzz (I get what you're talking about), have you tried nectarines instead?

I have - and I have a white nectarine tree in the back garden; it was one of the first things I planted, but I a bit obnoxious about making sure it *was* a nectarine and not a mis labeled peach. :P
I love nectarines. Many grow locally. (SC produces more peaches/nectarines than Georgia, actually. We live in the peach belt, too.)

I have such a hard time peeling peaches (a result of my stroke) that I have very happily gone over to nectarines.

I can't explain why peaches cause such a visceral reaction, especially since apricots don't bother me at all, but I'm grateful for nectarines; I love them and I doubt I'd ever be able to get anyone to peel my peaches for me, lol. (Which is why I rarely get to eat mangoes; I'm allergic to the oil in the mango skin, so I can't touch them.)

Also, on behalf of anyone who has ever had to drive the interstates through S. Carolina, thank you for not being as obnoxious about growing peaches as Georgia is. ;)
I can get someone to peel peaches (thanks Mama), but this way I don't have to wait.

Have you ever passed the Peachoid?

Yes, I have, at least a few times. But it's just one thing, not a never-ending string of billboards shouting about "Peaches - NEXT EXIT". If it's not peaches, it's pecans. Or both. Driving through S. Georgia is enough to make anyone swear off all food starting with the letter P.
We let Georgia do the shouting; we have plenty of both peaches and pecans, though.
