I think another mistake people make is using one password, or variations of the same password, for multiple sites. Even though it's a pain, I use very different pw's for every site I use.

Too bad most sites now require at least one capital, one numeral, one symbol, one drop of blood . . .

Yeah, 'correct horse battery staple' wouldn't be appropriate for most websites.
Some of them limit the amount of characters you can use. Imagine MY consternation when I went to log in somewhere and it had arbitrarily lopped off letters because the password was too long (didn't bother to tell me *before*)
