Another way of looking at it, or at least the way I looked at it, you could say that you didn't like the book BECAUSE OF how you felt sorry about what Panchito's family was going through. I agree with what you said about what the author wanted us to learn from the book, though. Good review!
I agree that the author, Francisco Jimenez, wanted to let the readers know of the obstacles and troubles the migrant family was going through. I also like how you provide great detail of Francisco's situation in your summaries . The way you connected so much to the book makes me think about the connections I can make with the book as well.
